>Taking photos, looking for photos and a new database

>Posted to the Louisiana Cemeteries RootsWeb list is a Ouachita Parish volunteer who would like to assist by taking cemetery photos. URL You will likely have to contact this person through the Ancestry/RootsWeb message board list, here, because the mailing list is gatewayed from the message board.

There are many people who are now searching for old photographs of relatives. Scanners are relatively cheap and digitizing old photographs in order to preserve them and share them is quite popular. Here is a copy of a post requesting a photograph that I found on the mailing lists:

Looking for info or photo of Eliza Jane Cooley Armstrong.b Aug 1869 MS, m
June 4, 1891 to Dickie Armstrong, Sabine Parish, d Feb 10
1948. Interested in any Native American connection.

Jimmy Earl Cooley

Researching: Cooley, Bailey, Sanders, Arrington, Tatum, Phillips,
Sullivan

From Genealogy Insider: A new site just launched to preserve the story of the slave trade and the Africans who became part of the largest forced migration in modern history. URL

I have found the site quite difficult to navigate, but there is a video tutorial that may explain the site further.
